With "Sewtime", I offer precut fashion kits your can sew in a 2-3 hour workshop.

The kits are ready-to-assemble, guiding marks on the fabric and leather handles of your stylish Denim bag help understand the sewing process. Dive right into the fun without the hassle of cutting and pattern reading!

What's more: Your sewing process is also guided by short, intuitive video instructions. Instead of working through complex explanations in a pdf format, you get to jump-start your skills through imitation. No sewing patterns, no prior skills, just focus on the pure fun of sewing.My "Sewtime" products & workshops are based on years of pattern making experience. guiding sewists though intuitive DIY products & guiding systems.
For my sewing sets, I use high-end deadstock Selvedge Denim, or create special edition bag series with upcycled or end of roll designer materials.

BACKSTORY: WHY READY-TO-ASSEMBLE?

Instead of working within the Fast Fashion industry, I like to focus on concepts & projects to challenge the mindlessness of fast fashion and textile consumption.
In my former textile startup InPeaces, I was developing a unique sewing-by-numbers approach with my partner. After ceasing our operations, I wanted to continue working on Ready-To-Assemble Fashion approaches, which I had researched and developed for almost 2 years, and which I believe are an empowering way to link a more and more DIY leaning consumer with a rising awareness of the amounts of textile waste we produce and consume.
I have tested Ready-To-Assemble workshops with beginners & intermediate sexists, kids and adults, and I have offered them as a team building experience assembling your own team hoodies.My Ready-To-Assemble product & workshop promotes:

I teach sewing, fashion design and upcycling for students of all ages, all levels, and all backgrounds.Thorough prep creates lasting experiences. I precut fabrics or motives, or bring a pile of discarded textiles to reuse, depending on your aims for your workshop.

Upcycling

Upcycling is not just a buzzword, it's the way to go from a take - make - waste economy to truly circular. With upcycling techniques, we create absolutely unique and bold statement pieces.

All my design workshops focus on 3 core aspects:1. Design process
The design process strengthens my students’ agency. It helps clarifying what you’re about, and builds their self confidence: design is not experienced as high end objects out of reach, but as a reflection of personality portrayed by series of individual choices.2. Personal Character
By design choices we reflect our selves in the world, our emotions and personalities. Especially in the case of designing from reused materials, we playfully build the kids' awareness for waste, overconsumption and the linear economy oftrash.3. Impact
Creation on small budgets and availabilities not only sharpens your design process and personality, it also lets my students realize impact on a small scale in the world around them.
The range in methods I offer covers easy-to-emulate techniques, as I believe in the doability of things, as well as advanced techniques of draping, sewing and pattern tweaking.

I bring years of experience working with kids and adults in both English and German, a broad variety of design techniques, mindful communication to lock down topics to dive into and communicate on, and methods to encourage my students in developing expressive designs.Classes can be combined within a broader student program or project.
